Beta Nostalgia

A simple pack that restores the golden age of Minecraft. Designed for players who prefer Minecraft's old style of gameplay, Beta Nostalgia customizes gameplay to feel like the versions prior to Beta 1.8.

Along with credit to the mod creators, I give credit to Jeffrey6978 for creating the Neo-Beta preset. The default world type this pack uses is a slightly modified version of this generator which fixes the problems with oceans and beaches and makes the world more watery like in Beta. Jungles, swamplands, roofed forests and savannas are also disabled using GeographiCraft, since I feel those biomes do not fit with the old Sweden feel. Grass has a lush green color again. Terrain is far more impressive and unpredictable than vanilla generation. (see Screenshots)

Main differences from vanilla:

• Old unpredictable terrain generation (most old seeds will work although lakes, beaches and caves may not spawn in the same locations)
• Old combat system
• No Endermen
• Only pigs drop food
• No hunger bar
• Food is unstackable and heals health instantly (0.5 times its hunger value)
• Edited the colormap to give the grass a greener color similar to Beta

Of course, you can edit the config files if you don't like some of these changes.

For best results use 2XMM2's Nostalgia-Craft Beta resource pack which restores textures and sounds from Beta 1.7.3.
