Elysium - Paradise Awaits

29

Paradise Awaits, but it’s going to take a lot of hard work to reach it.

Elysium: Paradise Awaits is a modpack that focuses on creating a mid-to-long term progression experience.

* Note: This modpack is very resource heavy and will likely require 6-8GB of RAM dedicated to it.

Why is it different?

Ores:

  • Ores are spread out and are found in larger clusters. Not every mining expedition will result in an inventory overflowing with goods and valuable materials.
  • You’ll have to be clever in finding ore deposits that are beneficial to you.

Mobs:

  • Mobs are more unrelenting in their pursuit, and will spend more time tracking you down to your favorite hiding spot.
  • They will be able to find you based on the noise you make, the food you carry and the amount of light you emit.
  • Some will even have special abilities to make them even harder to defeat, should you decide to engage them.

Blood Moons:

  • Every 7 days a Blood Moon will appear, and your enemies will show themselves in force with greater numbers
  • Their attacks will be faster, and their thirst for your blood tripled.

Exploring:

  • Exploring your surroundings will be crucial to survival.
  • Building your base will require proper positioning and be carefully thought out in order to be within valuable resources that you’ll need in order to survive.

Progression:

  • As you progress you’ll encounter more and more ways to obtain better items.
  • The best items/armor/weapons won’t be usable by you until you’ve worked your way up to them.

Paradise:

  • Your goal is to reach Paradise. A state of progression where materials are easily obtainable and available in excess.
  • You’ll master the art of Dimensions and create ones that have an abundance of rare and sought-after materials for your crafting needs.

This modpack offers a mix of magic and tech mods to suit your playstyle. Focusing primarily on making the initial stages harder regardless of what mod you start with, and progressing to higher tiers.

It’s also in it’s infancy and a lot of it’s core features are still being implemented and worked on. This is not a finished pack and will not be useable unless highly re-configured.

Why Create This Modpack?

The goal was to work more around the idea that ores aren’t just spread neatly across layers, and are easy to mine and start building with. That end-game items should be for those who have put in the time and effort to achieve them.

As it’s developed, this may change slightly. I plan on keeping the core view in mind, while having an open mind to changing how they’re implemented as feedback is received.

NOTE: THIS MODPACK IS NOT COMPLETE. MODS WILL BE ADDED/REMOVED. CONFIGS WILL BE CHANGED. AS IT STANDS, THIS PACK IS NOT USABLE IN SINGLE PLAYER MODE WITHOUT ORE SPAWNS BEING RE-CONFIGURED.
