Extra Pieces
Extra Pieces is a Fabric mod made simply to add new shapes of blocks to build with in Minecraft, as well as make many vanilla blocks come in different shapes.
The first piece implemented is the Vertical Slab, named a 'Siding'. Crafted much the same way as you'd expect, being a Slab's recipe turned on its side, Sidings are a separate block from Slabs, but you can easily convert one to the other and vice versa by simply placing one in a crafting window.
Here you can see Sidings (Vertical Slabs) for each of the vanilla slab types, placed facing all 4 cardinal directions.
There's also Corners (sideways stairs) which can be used to add extra detail to your builds.
Both Sidings and Corners can be placed in different directions, can be waterlogged, and come in every variant that slabs and stairs do in vanilla.
Here you can see the behaviour of a Siding when waterlogged. The water will not flow to the direction blocked by the Siding.
As of 1.3.0, the mod also adds Stairs, Slabs, Walls, Fences and Fence Gates (plus Sidings and Corners, too) for several (and I mean several) vanilla blocks that normally do not have them. There's a lot, believe me. So much so that this mod technically adds more recipes to the game than there are in the entire vanilla game. Oof.
