Forgotten Relics

You face an addon to both Thaumcraft 4 and Botania, designed exclusively for 1.7.10 version of Minecraft.

This addon brings up a variety of powerful relics, mostly oriented to expand the horizons of endgame. Most of them are designed to serve you in battles, but there are some utilitary ones. New baubles, tools, spellbooks, and even a single piece of armor in the entire freakin' mod are waiting for you to find an application for them!

A Few Important Things To Notice:

  1. I still don't have any plans for creating extensive integration between Thaumcraft and Botania. By now and for the nearest future, the greatest feature in this direction is setting up aspect tags for most of Botania's resources, so you could scan them with your thaumometer. There's also some items that supposed to be an ideological inheritors of some Botania's things, and propably there will be more, but they all are and will be adapted for use with Thaumcraft.

  2. I checked every research two times over to ensure, that everything is discoverable - so don't throw bug reports into me if you are unable to research something. Notice, that there's a special trigger system for researches designed for this addon - there's a link to article about it down below. If you don't know what to start with, but don't want to reveal the terrifying might of The Great Spoiler - I recommend you to obtain and scan Botania's resources, since greatest part of triggers are among them.

  3. There's a widely adjustable config file, that allows you to set most of the relics as powerful as you see fit - in case you find something being too powerful or too weak for you personal tastes, or depending on specific modpack. However, if you see some balance issues that could be applied to addon on the whole, I would appreciate if you point me on what things require re-balancing and how you see it could be made. I didn't have possibility to play with all this stuff "in the field" yet to find out how worthy it is, so you are more than welcome with any suggestions.

  4. Some relics are inspired by and based on Terraria and it's mods, especially Calamity and Thorium. Even though they may not be very recognizable visually now, because of freakin' copyright and all the pain in the ass that it brings.

Since the update 1.3.0, new trigger system for researches is used. Read the related article to understand how it works: Click here
Since the update 1.6.0, there's also some features provided by optional integration with MineTweaker 3. More info: Click here

FAQ:

Q: Why you've made it for 1.7.10 and not for [newer Minecraft version]?
A: There's a lot that could be said in here, but let me cut to the point - I personally love this version and still consider it the most stable and reliable choice. I clearly understand that 1.7.10 will never gain it's past popularity again, but I'm sure that there's a lot of people like me - and this addon is made just for them.
One may say that I've came up like few years too late with this thing, or if I made something like this for newer versions of Minecraft, I could gain much greater popularity - but the popularity is not something I search for. I'm just doing things that I like to do, alright?

Q: Why is this addon strictly dependent on Botania, while it has no significant integration with it?
A: There's more reasons for it to be required, than just recipes and research triggers. I've widely used Botania's methods in code, to the point where it doesn't seem feasible task to just remove/replace them all. Some of the relics in this addon could be considered ideological inheritors of Botania's items - and this also applies to their code.
This may change at some point in future, but I won't promise anything right now. I consider Botania to be one of the best and qualitative magic mods of it's time, and don't see a reason why someone wouldn't like to use it along with Thaumcraft.

Q: What is your policy about modpacks?
A: You just DO WHAT THE FUCK YOU WANT TO, according to WTFPL license under which this addon is distrubuted. But if you're going to include it in some kind of public modpack, I would really appreciate if you let me know.

Q: Are you planning to switch to [newer Minecraft version]?
A: No. Not in the nearest future, at least.

Q: Will you ever update this addon to [newer Minecraft version]?
A:
