What is LLR?

LPT Loot Roll is an addon to help with the distribution of unwanted loot. It was originally designed for the guild Lazy Peon Tavern on Silvermoon to work with our loot system but has later been generalized to allow for other guilds to use it.

How to use:

Basically, once a player receives an item they do not wish to keep and are able to trade, they link that item in a whisper to the raid leader.
If the raidleader then announces the item in a raidwarning, a lootwindow will pop up for all players that are able to use that item. The players can click a button for mainspec, offspec, transmog or other. By clicking one of the buttons the playere performs a /roll. By clicking X the player closes the window without rolling.

The raid leader gets a customized window that shows not only the item, and the buttons for mainspec, offspec, transmog and other; but also displays lists for the 4 categories. The addon will automatically pick up which button a player pressed and display a classcoloured name and the value of their roll in the corresponding list for the raidleader to see. Main, off and mog lists are automatically sorted by roll with the highest being the furthest down/up, depending on settings. The "Other" list sorts the custom rolls by the highest MAX possible value of their roll.

Important notes

All users only get one button press before their loot-window closes, and each user can only be registered once per list. This means players can do a manual /roll or open the frame manually to roll again, just in case the player clicked the wrong button or closed the lootwindow with the X - but if they do so to roll a second time on the same list the second roll will not be registered.

The leader window will come up for every loot announced in raidwarning, but the buttons for rolling will only be activated if the leader can use the item. The leader window also has history view, where you can go back to see the lists for previous loot. You navigate the history by using the arrows in the top right corner or scrolling on the frame that is not the lists. The leader can navigate back in time for X amount of items, where X is determined by user settings, which is 20 by default. The addon will still pick up rollers for the current item, even if the leader is browsing through the history.

As the addon uses the standard wow "/roll" function, all users do not need to have the addon for it to work for your guild. People without the addon can still manually do the rolls and the raidleader view will still pick them up and display it in the view.
The logic behind determining whether an item is available for a class is determined primarily by if it's the same armor/weapon type as what the player's class is supposed to (/are able to equip), or if the item is a trinket, ring, neck, cloak or a non-shield offhand.

As previously mentioned the addon has 4 rolls, and each of them have their own respective button that will roll the amount associated with them (except for other which will promt a pop up with an input field). Their default values are listed below, but this can be changed in the settings window.

Main button: 1-100.
Off button: 1-50.
Mog button: 1-6.
The "Other" button allows for custom rolls between 1-X, where X is less than 10 000.

Observe: The max-values need to be different from eachother for the addon to know which button is being pressed. Attempting to set the values of the rolls to be the same number as another roll, or attempting to set it to 0 will result in settings not being saved.

Use "/lpt" or "/llr" to view the available commands for the addon.

Settings:

To enter the config: /llr config (or navigate via the normal addon tab in the interface settings).

In the config frame you can chose to always show the leader frame even if you're a normal user, change the way the lists populate (as in highest roller being highest on the list or bottom on the list), to store roll history between sessions, to toggle the constant roll listener, and to set a custom scale value for resizing the windows to the user's preferances. Currently scaling of the text is a bit iffy as somethings not quite scaling right, which can make the text clip a little on the top of each list at certain threshholds.

Users can also share their settings from the config window, and all other users in the same group (party/raid) as them (who also have their config window open) will receive a pop up asking them if they wish to accept their settings. The shared settings as of right now are only values for the roll buttons. There's also buttons for resetting positions of the windows and clearing history, incase you prefer that over slash commands.

All windows are drag-able in case you wish to have them somewhere else on your screen and will remember where they were between sessions.

WARNING: Make sure all user’s roll settings are the same as the raid leader, as the leader only picks up rolls that match their settings. Always share your settings with the raid, if you make changes.
