Rhapsody was started ~3 years ago but I only really worked on it for about 4 months before shelving the project. I picked it back up this summer and spent a few more months on it before it was finished. In total, this took ~6-7 months to build if you don't include the 2 years when I wasn't working on it.
This is one of the first steps in the process of finishing all of my ships, both uploaded and yet to be uploaded. The hulls are all getting a makeover to reflect my current black and white style, and all are getting interiors made up of rooms from a modular room series I've been spending most of the past year making in order to more quickly make ship interiors. In addition, the renders of all are being updated to look more uniform and consistent across submissions.
The interiors are one of the most important features of these ships, and the interiors of some of the larger ships I'm still in the process of making are already massive. While a visuals are great, a build doesn't have a whole lot of lasting fun if you can't actually play with it. Because of this, the goal with these ships is to balance the focus given to both large-scale building with the exterior, and player-scale building with the interior. Every window you see is a real window. Every switch or button you come across inside does or will eventually do something (with the exception of ship weapons which I'm leaving out of public downloads).
At the moment there are two versions: the public and prison versions. The exteriors of both are largely the same, however the interiors are completely different. The free public version is in the download provided while the prison version, which contains an interior designed for prison servers, is private. I'll probably make a render of them side by side to give a better idea of the differences.
Actually there are a few more scenes of the exterior that I'm in the middle of rendering which haven't been finished yet, so more pics are coming soon if you think the current ones are too dark/blurry/not enough.
After I finish more rooms in my modular room system, I'll probably revisit this ship and make a third version containing some sort of adventure mode like a minigame or puzzle map.

Cutaway of the interior.
*******FAQ*******
How do I install this mod?
This is a map, not a mod. Unzip/extract the .zip file into your saves folder and play on Minecraft Java versions 1.11.2 or higher.
Do I have to pay to use the map?
No. While there is a paid-for version on Chunkfactory made for prison-server use, there is a free public version that anyone can download.
How do I download this?
Directly under the images to the right, under the little diamond and heart icons, you'll find a download link.
What mods or texture packs are needed?
No mods or texture packs are needed. This build was specifically intended to be compatible with vanilla Minecraft. That being said, you're always free to add content from your own mods if you think it would make it more fun.
What programs did you use to make this?
I used MCEdit 1 and normal in-game playing to construct it. I used Chunky to render the fancy-looking images and the gif.
How did you make the .gif?
I rendered a low-resolution scene of the front of the ship in Chunky in parallel projection mode, cut off the front 10 layers of blocks and moved the entire ship forward 10 spaces, and reloaded the chunks in Chunky and rendered another image with the same settings. This process was repeated until I made it through most of the ship. Overall I took ~35 low-resolution renders (sounds like a lot more than it actually is)
What's with the redstone under the command bridge?
Those circuits lead to the ship's weapons which have been removed in the public version. Most of them have not been updated to work in current Minecraft versions anyway, so there's not much point for including them even if I wasn't wanting to keep them private.
I found something like a door that I think is broken. What do I do?
Please, please, PLEASE tell me where exactly in the ship it is. If you're using the original world, tell me the coordinates. I'll upload a fixed version asap.
