Alternate Universe - HMPS Phoenicia (1906)

History
HMPS Phoenicia was a pre-dreadnought battleship built for the Royal Phoenician Navy, the navy of the colony of Phoenicia (the nowadays Republic of Phoenicia), then under British rule.

The ship was ordered as a means to project power in the Pacific Ocean, well before the introduction of the battlecruiser HMAS Australia. While her design was soon made obsolete by the launch of HMS Dreadnought, she was designed to reach faster speeds than other pre-dreadnoughts, and could therefore serve in WWI alongside more modern battleships. Her baptism of fire happened during the Gallipoli campaign in 1915, when she led the rest of the Phoenician Navy to support the British invasion force, operating in concert with other Royal Navy units.

After the end of the Gallipoli Campaign, she was assigned to the Grand Fleet, serving as the leader of the Phoenician Squadron. For most of the war she patrolled the North Sea, but she participated in the Battle of Jutland, where her squadron engaged a group of German cruisers. She managed to score some hits on the enemy force, and her squadron suffered no casualties, while destroying an armored cruiser and severely damaging two others, one of which would have been scuttled the following day.

After the end of WWI, she formally remained the flagship of the RPN, but in fact her duty was taken by newer designs. She remained in Phoenica Naval Base, when, in 1946, she was made into a museum ship, and was moved over to Phoenica Harbor Museum, where she still resides alongside other units of the Phoenician Navy.

Overview
HMPS Phoenicia was a pre-dreadnought battleship, which meant that she mounted just a few main battery guns, while sporting heavy secondary armament. However, in contrast with other British pre-dreadnoughts, she was built with less secondary guns, allowing her to have the same armor as the Lord Nelson-class, while still reaching higher speeds, surely helped by her experimental use of turbine engines, instead of reciprocating ones.
