Bardia, Libya, January 1941
The Battle of Bardia was part of the "Compass" operation in the African campaign during World War II, being the first major military operation in the desert war and with the participation of Australians.
At the beginning of January 1941, the British, with the collaboration of the Australians, assaulted Bardia and its only municipality, including taking a strongly defended fortress and 8,000 Italian prisoners, with the help of artillery, airplanes, and naval forces, to later make their way south. and advance on different flanks on the northern front of eastern Africa. 36,000 italian prisoners were taken.
On this occasion, I am recreating a fifth of the entire operation, specifically the taking of the municipality of Bardia and the Italian fortress, based on geographical reliefs, chronology and on my creativity, although it is not 100% accurate, but it does show an idea of how was the battle.
