Burg Walstein (eng: Castle Walstein)
Burg Walstein is located on an isolated Island in the sea and an anchor point to oversea trade of the south. Its name 'Walstein' (german; Wal = whale, stein = stone) originates from fisherman, but due to overfishing whales are no longer present.
The Castle is the domicile to a noble, well-respected lord and his family.
It's vibrant and friendly appeal is only a masquerade to those who don't know the true purpose of the castle for as it is, most and foremost, a penitentiary.
Captured sea raiders, pirates and other enemies of the kingdom who devoted their life to a life of crime shall be brought onto the island just to face years of torment or death in one of the many dark cells. Those, who are able to pay off their crime in labor shall be transported to the north-east.
Due to lack of stone and other essential materials the castles outskirts had to be reinforced with wooden logs and planks.
Not strong enough to fend off a full on siege, but crucial to buy the defenders time to fortify the castle and get everyone safe inside.
*** the castle is not yet fully finished, more might be added in the future such as more decoration, interior or houses***
