Minecraft Maps
This project is now closed.
I started building Erebor a while back, but with an entirely different interior. The old interior wasn't working well, there were some problems with the initial shapes (one-off blocks, etc), so I migrated the old gate over to a new map and started over on the interior.
The new map has a much better plan, and will have much more detail in regard to engineering the spaces and functional parts of the kingdom.
The gate is similar to what you see in the movie, with a few more embellishments, and the buildings on the interior are products of my imagination and inspiration from concept art and real-world architecture.
Sadly, I was unable to completely finish the main hall before the movie came out. At this point in time I'm working on creating some of the living spaces for shopkeepers whose stores are close to the entrance. I'm also adding some walkways to make it easier, and more obvious, to access some of the taller structures.
It's a massive work in progress, and I'm trying to keep a video log of the major additions that are made (see below). Depending on how the interior of Erebor goes, I might start working on Dale fairly soon. It's nice to see some sunlight now and again.
Don't forget to check the update logs!
Leave a diamond if you like it ;)
