FS Châteaurenault (1:1 Scale)

The RN Attilio Regolo is the first ship of the Roma-class large destroyers designed by the Italian Royal Navy in the mid-to-late 1930s and started construction in 1939. It is also one of the three Roma-class ships completed and put into service before the surrender of the Italian government. This type of ship was originally called an ocean scout ship (esploratori oceanici), and was classified as a light cruiser after 1938, but in essence it is a ship similar to a large destroyer or a destroyer leader.

Attilio Regolo was laid down on September 28, 1939 at the Livorno dock of the OTO shipyard, launched on August 28, 1940, and commissioned into the Italian Royal Navy on May 14, 1942.

After the war, Attilio Regolo was handed over to the French Navy as a compensation ship. It was renamed Châteaurenault (D606) and underwent a large-scale modernization project from 1951 to 1954.
