Fleckenstein Castle - Minecraft

Hello! It's been a long time! Here is the third castle of my project of reconstitution of 70 Alsatian castles as they were at the time!
This is the Fleckenstein castle, a castle built on and around a huge sandstone rock with troglodytic rooms.

It was probably built around 1138 in order to secure the Wasgau (Northern Vosges region) and part of the Palatinate.
It was also a border region with the duchy of Lorraine. The Fleckensteins lived there and gave their name to the castle.
This family quickly acquired a vast territory and became one of the most powerful in northern Alsace. In 1273, Rudolf of Habsburg threatened the Fleckensteins with a siege of the castle if they did not release the bishop of Speyer, whom they had imprisoned in their fortress.
To avoid an attack, the prelate was released. The castle has survived the centuries without incident.

During the Thirty Years' War, the castle was used as a refuge for the surrounding population, a graffiti drawing the game of the mill left by children of that time is still preserved today on a rock.
The French plundered the place in 1674 and the castle was then destroyed by explosives by the troops of Montclar in 1680.

The ruins are still quite well preserved and the castle is the second most visited in Alsace. The last photograph represents the castle of Fleckenstein in its current state
