It's done, might make a download or a schematic. In the meantime, go check it out on c.nerd.nu (reddit's creative server). Its at /warp 8bit, behind the giant sonic pixel art.
Note for updated submission guidelines:
Pixel Art is defined as "A form of digital art, created through the use of raster graphics software, where images are edited on the pixel level."
As with all forms of art, the thought for the piece has come from one place or another & is physically interpreted/expressed by the artist. So long as they have not created a carbon copy of any original content (be it based in the digital or physical realm), any creation of theirs is theirs alone.
Quoted from 7.4.4 Unacceptable Projects (last revision 4/8/14):
I wish it to be known that I find the ruling on Pixel Art to be unfair. While I understand that the majority of Pixel Art content generally turns out to be stolen from another source, I find that this blanket ruling unfortunately targets legitimate creators along with those stealing their content. Unfortunately, there's no way to indefinitely keep users from copying content, but I hardly think that legitimate creators should be so unjustly punished for publishing their work as anyone else would. It's one thing to say that a single block-wide tower to the world's height limit does not qualify as a project, or that a single block placed on a barren landscape would not, but the amount of work we put into our content is noticeably leaps & bounds beyond such examples. We deserve the right on PMC to portray our work to the rest of the community and to gain experience points from it- not have our work shoved off to the side in the forums, where it can go completely unnoticed for the rest of its days.

- "The following is a partial list of submissions that are not allowed in the Projects section of Planet Minecraft. These submissions will be deleted and you will be banned."
- "Pixel Art: While it is possible to create original pixel art, almost all pixel art is created through software programs like Spritecraft or simply copied from an image by hand. This is against the Program-Generated content and Tracing guidelines. If you have original pixel art that you would like to post, please do so on the forums."
