The King/Nimitz Iowa Conversion is a hypothetical refit for the Iowa class Battleship that possibly could've been created by Admiral King and Admiral Nimitz. The design combined the two funnels into one in order to accommodate enough room for two of the 10 5-inch gun to be moved to the front and aft of the ship, allowing the ship to have a larger amount of fire power when firing towards the front, aft and broadside of the ship. This design also had a larger amount of aa guns. This refit would've most likely been added to the never build Illinois (BB-65) and Kentucky (BB-66) since they were not yet completed.
