This a project I started a year or more ago and then had a long break from Minecraft in general. However inspiration returned and I've finished the build at long last.

This build atempts to portray a nostalgic scene along the Mid-Atlantic coast of the United States, specifically the Chesapeake Bay region of Maryland. It depicts a small town around the turn on the 21st Century very much as I remember when visiting similar places in the summers of my childhood. The boom-times of the fishing industry have past, as evidence by the many rotting piers and the skeletons of abandoned boats. The remaining watermen still make a living harvesting crabs, and oysters, while others take tourists out on fishing charters hoping to reel in the "big one". Tourism keeps many of these small towns alive in these modern times. Many also try their luck fishing, or crabbing and a stop by the local Bait and Tackle shop is a tradition passed down the generations. For those who want a less hands-on experience (or who are unlucky) the "Bayside Bar and Seafood" Restaurant provides tourists and locals with a chance to enjoy the bounty of the Bay as well as a beautiful waterfront view. Visitors can also enjoy camping or picnics in the shade of the pines and a nature walk through the salt marsh along the boardwalk to get a close-up look at the local wildlife (Seabirds, ducks, ospreys).
