1:1 scale of the Mitsubishi G4M, first is a G4M2E Model 24 Tei from the 721st Kokutai carrying an MXY-7 Model 11 Ohka. The second one is a G4M1 Model 11 with a green cross surrender livery from Ie Shima, August 19, 1945
About the plane:
一式陸上攻撃機 (Type 1 Attack Bomber)
The Mitsubishi G4M was a twin-engine, land-based medium bomber formerly manufactured by the Mitsubishi Aircraft Company, a part of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, and operated by the Imperial Japanese Navy from 1940 to 1945. Its official designation is Mitsubishi Navy Type 1 attack bomber (一式陸上攻撃機, 一式陸攻, Ichishiki rikujō kōgeki ki, Isshikirikukō) and was commonly referred to by Japanese Navy pilots as Hamaki (葉巻, "cigar", lit. "leaf roll") due to the cylindrical shape of its fuselage and its tendency to ignite after a hit. The Allied reporting name was "Betty".[2]
12th aircraft of the chain. We have a unique one too here, it's the G4M cigar! The nickname suits well for this plane, flamable and looks like a cigar.. This design is compatible with the previous post I did, the Yokosuka MXY-7 Ohka G4Ms (G4M2E Model 24) is the carrier of that kamikaze missile parasite aircraft. I want to do this plane because I think the concept is interesting, the parasite fighter thing? Making two aircraft and combining them is what I like the most! There will be other projects I will do in the future like this, where I combine aircraft into one build. Anyway that's enough for today, i'll see ya tomorrow!
