New York class battleship (1916)
A 1:1 scale build of a New York class battleship, a class of battleship constructed by the US Navy between 1911 and 1914. The New York class consisted of two ships, New York and Texas, and represented a marked improvement over previous US battleship designs, as the ships featured an increase in caliber over the previous Wyoming class, going from 12 to 14" for the main battery, with the two ships each carrying 10 14"/45 guns in 5 dual turrets. They were the last battleship class built before the US Navy adopted the Standard type design with the Nevada class, and the last US battleship class to be powered by coal.
New York is the first American battleship that I have built so far, and it is currently in its 1916 configuration. I finished the ship nearly a year ago, but I realized that the lower hull didn't look as good I thought it did, so I spent time redoing the entire hull at around the same time I was redoing Hiei's lower hull. I also realized I didn't have as much free time as I did before, so I worked on smaller projects while I could while holding off on the larger ones. Recently though, I found some time to work on projects again, and I realized that New York had been delayed for a very long time, so here it is now.
I'm probably going to start diversifying what I upload now since I don't want to limit myself to building large builds of ships only. My upload schedule is still going to be very wack, but I want to make sure that every upload is as good as I could make it.
