F-5E Tiger IIs have been operated by the Normanland Air Force (NDF-AF) since 1975, replacing their completely outdated F-86 Sabres from before that era. They were operated on the frontlines until 1994 when they were replaced by the newer F/A-18C Legacy Hornets. Their service didn't stop there, the remaining 600 in service being placed into coastal defence and anti-shipping duties.
Remaining aircraft in 1998 received avionics and weapon updates plus Have Glass canopies.
Of the 1100 that were operated by the Air Force, 250 were lost in combat operations while the rest were either scrapped or sold off to smaller nations.
