Octopus Island
The island
Oh, seems you found Octopus Island!
It's one of the most peculiar pieces of land ever discovered!
It's particoular shape is due to the anomalous vulcanic activity in the region togheter with sea currents.
The island is composed by a central active volcano surrounded by strips of land, also referred as 'tentacles'.
Tentacles are very different between each other and present various flora, geological composition and vulcanic activity.
If you want to stop for a while, here is a list of the main features to visit:
Sand tentacle
This area is completely made of sand an it's going to disappear due to erosion, in fact is reduced only to a sereis of small sand islands.
Bush tentacle
This region tipically has only plants of small size due to a terrain really poor of mineral salts, these bushes cover the entire tentacle.
Tree tentacle
In this area something must have altered the flora, on the residual of an inactive volcano grows an enormous tree!
Even though its position seems quite unstable the majestic tree grows luxuriant above all other plants.
Jungle tentacle
This small strip of land is full of a dense jungle, trees may reach impressive heights.
Peak tentacle
The majority of this section is characterized by desert, but at the tip there is a rock peak sustained by natural columns of stone.
It seems as if the tip of the tentacle is rising from the water!
Lava tentacle
In the central lagoon there is a small active volcano! Vulcanic ashes have deposited on the nearby terrain making the sand to look much darker.
Crystal spikes of unique chemical composition grew into the water and were subsequently raised above water level by tectonic activities related to the presence of the volcano.
Pillars tentacle
Piles of rocks and dirt are present in the whole region and are the only place where flora is present.
Forest tentacle
The entire surface of the tentacle and the area nearby are constituted by a grassy plateau, here we can find a forest of strong medium-sized trees. Their roots keep togheter the plateau preventing it from eroding and disappearing like the Sand Tentacle.
Central volcano
The volcano is the highest structure of the island, it's still active and you should hurry up before it erupts!
In case of eruption, don't seek refuge in the sea cavern!
