RMS Britannic 1915

Hello there.

After more than 5 months of work I am finally ready to present my latest and hopefully final builds of the Olympic Class! The third and final to release is the RMS Britannic, unfinished and improved version of her sisters. The Britannic was under construction when her younger sister Titanic sunk, and as such Harland & Wolff modified her with many new safety features such as a double hull, higher watertight bulkheads, and perhaps most notably, new crane-like lifeboat davits capable of lowering lifeboats faster and far more efficiently, almost eliminating crew input altogether by automating much of the lowering-process. Britannic would also sport many interior improvements, such as an additional First Class elevator, a brand new design for her First Class Smoke Room and Swimming Bath, and an overall improved Second Class. Britannic was launched on the 26th of February, 1914, but was sadly never completed in her intended role. World War 1 broke out later in the year and she was requistioned to serve as a hospital ship by the British Admiralty. She ferried many wounded soldiers between the Dardanelles and Britain, sailing for six voyages until she eventually struck a sea mine in the Aegean Sea. Her new safety features were overwhelmed and she could not stay afloat. However, her new gantry davits proved invaluable in the evacuation and nearly all of her compliment were saved. 30 people were killed by being sucked into her still turning propellers, an unfortunate (and avoidable) but very small death toll compared to that of the Titanic four years earlier. Britannic came to rest on her starboard side and remains the largest passenger ship ever sunk.

This build is in the 1.8.1 scale and is 484 blocks long and 51 blocks wide. Included in the world download is a version of the ship with added water wake and smoke effects, and one version without. The build has full interiors. The world download is in Java Edition, so no Bedrock. Sorry!

Hope you enjoy!

Special thanks to Dooku200 for help with various rooms and SilentaCraft for help in building many of the public rooms and cabins.
