RMS Titanic 1912
Hello there.
After more than 5 months of work I am finally ready to present my latest and hopefully final builds of the Olympic Class! The second to release is of course the infamous RMS Titanic, perhaps the most famous ship in history, launched in 1911 and sailed on her maiden voyage on the 10th of April, 1912 from Southampton to New York. On the night between the 14th and 15th of April, Titanic struck an iceberg in the middle of the North Atlantic. Six of her watertight compartments were grazed and breached, and as such she could not remain afloat. As Titanic started sinking by the head, her crew started evacuating the passengers, prioritizing women and children. However, there were enough lifeboats for just half of the people on the ship. As the water reached the boat deck, panic broke out and the crew barely got the final two boats floated off the ship before she took her final plunge. As Titanic's bow was pulled down further her stern rose up into the air, putting immense strain on her hull, she lost structural integrity and broke apart. As the almost 1500 people left on the ship held on for their lives, Titanic's stern disappeared below the waves at 2:20 in the morning local time, on the 15th of April, 1912. 1496 people died, and they were survived by only 712. The disaster remains one of the worst maritime disasters in history and would go on to spark many safety regulations and improvements in shipbuilding.
This build is in the 1.8.1 scale and is 484 blocks long and 51 blocks wide. Included in the world download is a version of the ship with added water wake and smoke effects, and one version without. The build has full interiors. The world download is in Java Edition, so no Bedrock. Sorry!
Hope you enjoy!
Special thanks to Dooku200 for help with various rooms and SilentaCraft for help in building many of the public rooms and cabins.
