Aquila is an unfinished Italian carrier converted from the transatlantic SS Roma. The construction of the Aquila began in 1941. The Italian armistice forced the shipyard to end. The carrier was 90 % finished. Scared that the German army could steal the carrier, the Italian army decided in 1945 to do a sabotage mission to sunk the ship. The carrier was scrapped in 1952.
Lenght : 235,5 m ( 772 ft 8 in )
Beam : 30 m ( 98 ft 5 in )
Draft : 7,3 ( 23 ft 11 in )
