Roman Theater of Pompey
This is my 1:1 scale reconstruction of the theater of Pompey as it appeared during the time of the roman republic. This was the greatest theater in rome and one of the most historically important buildings in the city as this was the location where Julius ceasar was assassinated and it would set off the chain of events that would turn Rome from a republic into an empire.This project is also the longest one ive procrastinated on so a year and a half after building started and stoped its here now.
Because of how many conflicting sources there and how nobody is 100% sure how the theater looked i just blended together elements from all the various reconstructions with what is known.my primary sources are the cambridge university reconstruction and the collection from the kings visualization lab www.pompey.cch.kcl.ac.uk/index.htm .
Please enjoy it and hope it inspires some more roman builds, you can use it for anything you want just give me credit for building it
