Hello, Ryer here,
So, as a predominant skyscraper builder, I have been looking for ways to break the biggest limitation this game has... the height limit. Here is Skymile Tower, a 1:1 recreation of a proposal in Tokyo Bay in Japan. Technically I built about half of the full project, called Next Tokyo 2045 (I stopped mostly because it was already far too large). Overall, the project is 1,706 blocks tall, and about 7000 blocks long. 11 of the buildings within the project break the 256 block threshold, with the second tallest being over 750 blocks tall. Overall, this was a really fun project to build. I hope you all enjoy this one.
Note for the download: The project is split into two world files. The first file, "Skymile Tower" is the main project file. "Skymile Stacks" contains the pieces of the project that are taller than 250 meters, split into 250 meter sections. Both worlds require that you use the Blueprint Resource Pack.
Special thanks to the members of the Blueprint Creative Server, particularly Steve for helping with various aspects of this project. Also thanks to both SirFinnigan and West for testing the waters with this method of building tall.

Information on Next Tokyo 2045 and Skymile Tower
Skymile tower is the centerpiece of "Next Tokyo 2045" which was a collaboration between a team led by David Malott, who is one of the top computational specialists and researchers at Khon Pederson Fox Associates, while also serving as the chairman of The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (where the project was published); Leslie E. Robertson, one of the most important highrise engineers of the past 60 years; Keisuke Hiei, who is a high profile urban architect in China and Japan, working on many buildings, including the SWFC in Shanghai and the ICC in Hong Kong; and Heidi Werner, a urban futurist software developer who has helped create some of the back end of BIM urban planning software. Together they decided to conduct a project study on urban density, material infrastructure, and large scale sustainability in a transit oriented community. At the same time, they attempted to factor in the artificial archipelago that the project would create as a defense against storms and tsunamis (a large concern for low-lying Tokyo). Overall, the project takes advantage of many technologies barely used, and tried to evaluate the feasibility of applying them to a large scale project. The project went through a full design process, and it has been determined not only possible, but theoretically practical... Though not saying it will ever be built.
