Some Lakeside House
Hey guys, today I have for your viewing pleasure a beautiful, fully furnished rustic house perched on the shore of a picturesque lake.
This build took me a lot longer than I would have liked to get it right. There was lots of fiddling with world generation mods to find the perfect spot to build, then there was lots of indecision about the placement which led to me learning how to use structure blocks to literally flip the house on its end. I'm still not 100% happy with the exterior as it looks somewhat bland, but I think the layout of rooms and the interior work adds a lot to this build, and I think it really feels quite homey.
I haven't posted a download link because I used 2 pretty significant mods in the building of this house (Dynamic Trees and Realistic Terrain Generation) that would ruin the environment if they weren't present. If you were to load this world without them, all the trees will be deleted, and if you travel to any chunks that haven't previously been generated by me you will get ugly chunk walls where the vanilla terrain generator kicks in again. However if there is enough interest I may upload a modded world file which you can use provided you have these two mods. I may also try to recreate the world without dynamic trees and with lots of pre-generated chunks so you can play it vanilla without running into chunk walls until you travel ~1000-2000 blocks from the house.
Anyway, let me know what you think! I have a few plans to build more houses around this world and connect them all up later, so watch this space.
