Description:
It's a chunk of land, containing 8 apartment buildings, all furnished inside! :D As you can see, it's divided in two parts, one that is full of those apartment buildings and the other one is natural, from the past, with forests and fields, and some traditional Russian houses. Each house is decorated inside.

I also decorated 6 apartments in different buildings, some can be in the same building, but the idea was for you to see how these different apartments could've been decorated back in Russia 1963. You don't have to look for these apartments among a thousand other apartments in the map :D as I've placed some navigation signs on the spawn, you can click on it and teleport there directly, but of course you can explore it on your own, as sort of a challenge.

The map is great for survival, there are resources underground, some animals, wolves, rabbits and foxes in forests and the barrier blocks so those animals and you won't fall out of the map completely to hell :D

Architecture and Design:
I picked 3 housing block types: I-515/9 (9-floor, wide building), II-18/21 (12-floor building) and a classic 5-floor building. I called it "classic" because it's the very first "Khrushchyovka", which made Soviet architecture possible. Most of those buildings were 5 floors because it was hard and almost unreal to access hot water and energy in cold environment in a building higher than those 5 floors. However, in 1958 architects designed buildings of 9 floors, they had a different name, different material (white bricks or concrete), and had bigger apartments and overall quality was better.

The year is 1963, so the Moscow you see on my map does not look like this anymore, these days. In 1960s and 50s these apartment blocks were very new, and construction areas were not everywhere, that means there will be some large chunks of land free of buildings, white snow fields or leftovers from construction, and trees were planted recently, that's why they're small of height.

There are sayings, that these apartment blocks are ugly, and that it ruined overall look of the country, nowadays these buildings are everywhere in Russia, in big cities mostly, however. I can say that's true, the architects couldn't predict how it will look in the future, that it will lose its new white bright colors to a dark gray color, which became that mostly because of the snow and rain, and other hard conditions. However, these buildings helped people through the years after the war, most people were living in old Russian houses, which had cracks in the walls and roofs, or some people didn't even had a house at all. The idea helped the economy of USSR back then, and the housing plan was so successful that some European and North American countries also tried constructing these blocks.

But, after time, these apartment blocks became dangerous, the crime rate increased, and it was better to stay inside at night. Because naturally, people can't live in these conditions for long, and that eventually will always have the same result of failure. What's more interesting, these Soviet buildings actually were built in a way that people could live here temporary, then move out again to something else. But that, apparently, didn't happen.

Process:
I've been building this damn map for 2 months straight xD The land was built using World Edit skills, it took me a long time to figure out how to make the snow look as realistic as possible. Also stuff I was reading, historical details, interior mostly, exterior too and also these traditional houses were made with as high historical accuracy as possible, my parents helped me with the details also, as they were born in Russia and their grandparents lived in those houses :D

- One of the old traditional houses actually belonged to my Great-grandmother, she sold the house before I was even born. The house and its interior was built from the memories of my mother

- The map was built in 1:1 scale
- The map was created from void, and I used only World Edit to finish all of it
