Takao (高雄型)- Pride of the Imperial Navy

Sleek Lines. A tall and imposing Pagoda bridge. It may surprise the onlooker that such power and speed can be contained within such an artistic ship. This, however, was the nature of Takao, the pride of the Japanese Imperial fleet.


The Takao Class was one of the most powerful ships in the world at the time of her completion. She served the navy of Japan in world war two along with her sisters: Maya, Chokai, and Atago. She was armed with ten guns, in 5 twin turret mounts. They were capable of dealing heavy damage to anything that got within range! They also carried 16 torpedo tubes with the deadly Japanese 'Long Lance' torpedo, which was one of the most powerful singular weapons of world war 2. Unfortunately, 3 of these vessels were destroyed by the end of the war, but this ship, Takao, remained and was taken by the British navy as a prize ship.

Unfortunately, although the British disposed of her in real life, here in Minecraft the beauty and power that once was can live again! My translation of this amazing ship is in the scale of 1.15, meaning I multiplied all metric values of her dimensions by this number, and then used this as my own dimensions. The result is a balance between realistic scale and intricate detail.
