INTRODUCTION:
Me [​HeirOfAzrael] and my good friend BludPanda have been hard at work building The Light & Power building. A project that pertains to a very obscure and overall unknown location in the Batman mythos. Inspired by Batman Arkham Origins and retro-futuristic technology from the '50s and '80s. The Light & Power Building is an art pieced buried in technology and mechanical machinery that is tasked to power the homes and jobs of Gotham's citizens throughout Magani Island. This project is connected to The Gotham Edifice Project BludPanda and I are creating. this project is being made in tandem. However, this build serves a different purpose, The Light & Power Building serves to be an Arkham predator map in Minecraft. This project will be the first of hopefully many to be made and gives us a way of creating exciting content, conjoining playability, and exploration all in one enjoyable experience.


GAMEPLAY:

  • TEAMS & UTILITIES:
    Each map has two teams, those being Vigalantes and Goons. Each team is set with its own gadgets and weaponry to complete their goals. The Goon's objective is to complete their task before the Vigilante(s) take them down. Depending on the map, the vigilantes might have a map advantage and the goons might have a player advantage. Of course, this changes from map to map ever so slightly.

  • OBJECTIVES:
    The objective for the players differs depending on what team you join. The Goons working for Joker, are tasked with going to the old Light & Power Building in the industrial district on Miagani island and shut down the power of the whole island for Joker's evil machinations. They must overload the main chambers located in each main room to shut off the power. It's the Vigilantes job to stop them at all costs. The Vigilantes have a alot at their disposoal to takedown the goons. Using the map and their gadgets to their advantage the Vigilantes can go to extreme highs with perch points casted in shadow. or activating gas pipes to cause and short distaction.
SOURCES OF INSPIRATION:

  • The main source of this idea is comes from my one of our favorite Arkham games, Batman Arkham Origins from 2013. When coming up with the technology of the map we decided to go with a retro futuristc technology and atmosphere. In addition to that we also used a lot of gothic architrecture to emphasize The Light & Power Building being an older more extravagant building.
