USS Northampton (CLC-1)
The USS Northampton was laid down as a Oregon City-class heavy cruiser. Though she would go under heavy modifications that leave her in her own subclass. In the end she was a command light cruiser. She was commissioned on March 7th, 1953 and be later reclassified on April 15th, 1961. The USS Northampton would later take on exercises along side NATO throughout her career. In 1961 she became apart the US government's plan for Continuity of Operations. She was dubbed the “floating White House”. In the event of a Nuclear attack the US President would be evacuated to her. She was designated as the National Emergency Command Post Afloat (NECPA). Her sister ship the USS Wright was also apart of the NECPA. The USS Northampton would be decommissioned on April 8th, 1970.
This build has a complete interior with it. Making interiors are always harder, especially when there’s nothing to go on. Nonetheless I hope that you guys can enjoy her.
