Vanguard-class | Star Trek [non-canon]
MADE IN MC v1.7.10
ATTENTION! This vessel uses the "Enterprise" resource pack by HamsterJetCar (included).
Starfleet's Vanguard-class, first launched in 2168 is the successor to the Defender-class introduced 7 years prior. The Admiralty's growing concerns about the drawbacks of the Defender led them to commissioning a new class of starship 3 years ahead of schedule. The tactical capabilities of the Vanguard are far superior to its predecessor boasting a rearward photonic torpedo tube as well as a greater number of pulsed phase cannons. The Vanguard is also the first vessel equipped with prototype bridge, deflector and nacelle shielding. Ships of the Vanguard-class also featured the second iteration of the super-cooled warp core with increased efficiency levels. A multi-configurable section of the ship located at the extreme rear could be setup to serve one of three purposes; space for a single shuttlecraft, a transporter room or a cargo hold that could be restocked via a shuttle, eliminating the need to be resupplied at a nearby starbase. This is the most common of the three with 8 of the 11 Vanguard-class starships boasting this configuration.
