What do Radioactive Blocks look like? Well just like this. Look Ma no windows!

Radioactive Blocks introduces new ores to the game that can smelt to the ingots needed to craft blocks as a light source. The image below provides a visual on all the new ores. Only radioactive material with a half life better than 1000 years are included though. All ores require iron or better to mine. Even if you find some close to the surface you can't mine it until you have an iron pickaxe. Some ores are harder to find than others and spawn points will vary. No ore spawns above Y100 and most spawn below Y60.

There are some interesting side effects to blocks that are radioactive. In fact monsters don't do so well exposed to radiation. Players and items also get some strange effects from radioactivity as well. I know it's a Creeper on fire! Comes in handy when you want to protect a village.

Since this mod generates new ores it is advised to install it on a new game instance. I have not yet written code that will allow this mod to spawn these ores in the world for existing games.

Currently, blocks will be crafted with any radioactive ingot, gravel and the base vanilla block. Only blocks that can withstand the atomic weight can be crafted into a radioactive block. Other types of sub-blocks like planks, slabs, stairs and etc. will be crafted much like the vanilla version. Recipes will also unlock, via advancements, once certain items in your inventory change. Once a block is crafted as a Radioactive Block, these blocks must be harvested with Diamond or better tools.

NOTE: This mod has not been server tested and is not guaranteed to work on Minecraft Forge servers yet. There are plans to get it working in a server environment very soon.

* Armor has the ability to regenerate its wearer due to radiation effects.

** These items have a sort of flame aspect to them. They expose targets to an increased radiation level and will light a monster on fire. Axes will not set blocks on fire though.

Currently, this mod crafts blocks in a very standard way via the crafting table. In the very near future I would like to add a fabricator to the game that takes a radioactive fuel cell in order to craft these blocks.
