Rainbeau's Egg-Heads

What does this data pack do? Its primary purpose is to allow vanilla mobs to drop their heads and/or spawn eggs. (Eggs and heads. "Egg-Heads." Get it? Meh. Whatever.)

OK, sure, there are already other data packs that do that. So why use this one?

First, unlike the others, "Egg-Heads" doesn't require that you use an enchanted or otherwise special weapon. (The "Looting" enchantment will increase the odds of getting eggs or heads, of course, but it's not essential.) Second, if you use the other packs, you have to choose one or another, as multiple data packs can't all modify the same loot tables. With "Egg-Heads," you don't have to choose. You can find both eggs *and* heads! (Note that eggs and heads will only drop when mobs are killed by a player.)

The most commonly-encountered mobs typically have a 0.2-0.5% base chance to drop their heads when killed. Rarer or more difficult mobs will drop their heads with greater frequency. The base chance of a mob dropping a spawn egg is never higher than 0.5%. The full list of assigned percentage chances can be found in the "Drop Chances.txt" file in the data pack's main folder.

Just for fun, "Egg-Heads" also gives villagers a chance to drop an emerald or something related to the trades offered by members of their professions when killed. Only basic stuff, though; it won't let you farm Librarians, for example, to get enchanted books! Zombie villagers might also drop such things, though for obvious reasons, less frequently than their living counterparts.

I'd recommend using "Vanilla Silk Spawners" by TheSaltyPug alongside "Egg-Heads." That data pack will let you pick up monster spawners that you come across with golden "Silk Touch" pickaxes. You can then place those spawners wherever you like, and use spawn eggs obtained from your mob hunting to determine what they'll spawn.
