HOW TO USE SHADERS
Step 1: Download and Install Optifine
Shaders aren’t mods; they are a form of a texture pack. Vanilla Minecraft does not support these, so you need Optifine to make it work. Go here (https://optifine.net/home) and download the latest version and then install it (it will automatically install in the Minecraft data folder).
Step 2: Download Shaderpacks of Your Own Choice
Download shaderpacks that you want to try out. There are thousands of shaderpacks, so whenever you download one, just leave it in your download folder for the time being.
Step 3: Open Minecraft Optifine Version
You have to open Minecraft from the launcher with the Optifine version, which sits in the arrow menu to the left of the play button. Start the Optifine version (Make sure it says Minecraft 1.16.1 (Modded) in the bottom left corner of the main menu).
Step 4: Open Shaders Folder
Go to Options - Video Settings - Shaders - Shaders Folder in Minecraft. This will open the shaderpacks folder, where you can drop the ZIP file of your chosen shaderpack.
Step 5: Restart Minecraft and Enjoy!
After you drop the shaderpack file into the folder, you will have to restart Minecraft before using them in-game. All you have to do is go back to the shaders setting in-game and select a shader, then the game will load it.
