Tektite II Underwater Habitat
This is the Tektite II Underwater Habitat built in Minecraft! The Tektite II was one of three underwater laboratories built during the 1970's for marine research. People would live in these habitats for up to 20 days while conducting studies on marine biology and hydrology. The Tektite habitats were some of the most elaborate underwater research stations built to date.
My version of Tektite II is a replica which aims to incorporate all of the main features of the Tektite habitat. It includes a wet room, storage room, laboratory, living quarters and other amenities. The entire structure is built with two layers of blocks in order to prevent water from leaking into the living area. Because of this my Tektite II habitat is roughly 2:1 scale on the exterior and 1:1 scale on the interior. The Structure is 34 blocks wide, 17 blocks long and 22 blocks high.
