History of the building
In its current form, the building was built in 1932-1935. Initially, the building housed the Council of Labor and Defense Through, but two years after the completion of the building it was abolished. In the guide to Moscow that year, the building was listed as the House of the Council of People's Commissars of the USSR. Later, the building belonged to the Council of Ministers of the USSR, then to the State Planning Committee of the USSR.
From 1994 to the present, the State Duma of the Russian Federation has been operating in the building.
The State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation is the lower house of the Federal Assembly - the parliament of the Russian Federation. The highest representative and legislative body of power in Russia along with the Federation Council.
