ValuePlates

ValuePlates is a nameplate addon that offers a different art style, layout, and significantly more control over what is shown and when for specific types of units. This addon will replace Carbine's default nameplate addon if you decide to install it.

Slash Commands:

/valueplates or /vp

Features:

  • Occlusion: Hides nameplates that are blocked by objects.
  • Chat Bubble Occlusion: Hides nameplates of units that currently have chat bubbles displayed.
  • Classification Icon: Display an icon related to the units difficulty or a players class icon.
  • Big Mob Adjustment: Displays nameplate at the feet of an enemy if the original location is above the players screen region.
  • Target Marker: Display a target marker above your current targets head if enabled. Multiple icons available.
  • Threat Alert: Display a marker around an enemy units nameplate area depending on which setting is selected. You can choose either Threat Alert (notifies if you have threat) or Invert Threat Alert (notifies that you do not have threat).
  • Debuff/Dispellable Alert: Display a marker around a friendly units nameplate area depending on which setting is chosen. You can choose either Debuff Alert (notifies if unit has debuff) or Dispellable Alert (notifies if unit has dispellable debuff). Extremely useful on fights like Experiment X-89, Phageborne Convergence, and so on.
  • No Shield Mode: Hide all friendly shields.
  • Opacity Settings: Adjust the opacity of the nameplate.
  • Health Cutoff: Adjust the color of the nameplates health bar when below a certain percentage.
  • Profile System: Save and delete profiles which can be tied to limited action sets! See the in-depth Profile System section below for further explanation.
  • Textures: Multiple textures available for the shield, health, cast, and resource bars. Three different icons available for the target marker.
  • Color Settings: Adjust colors for names, health bars, health bar cutoffs, shield bars, absorb bars, vulnerable (moment of opportunity) bars, cast bars, resource bars, and classes. Background and Backdrop colors currently do not work.
  • Settings tied to Unit Type: Adjust settings for each unit type. Unit settings currently available are Target, Self, NPC, Party, Player, and Pet.
Unit Settings:

This may sound confusing but there are two parts to a nameplate when configuring these settings. The top part I consider the "General" settings area which consists of the Name, Title, Affiliation, and Reward Icons. The second part (or lower part) includes the health, shield, resource, cast, interrupt armor, level, and classification icon. Currently the lower part is named "Nameplate" in the settings but may change based on feedback. All of the settings found in these sections adjust these two parts of the nameplate for that specific unit type.

Profile System:

When do settings get saved?

Any changes you make are automatically saved to the profile you currently have selected. You do not have to hit the "save" button every time you adjust your settings.

How do I create a new profile?

To create a new profile you choose one of your current profiles and simply hit "Save" and rename the profile. Use the new profile and adjust it how you want.

How do I switch profiles?

In the General Settings tab of the options GUI simply click on the profile you wish to use under the Profile Settings section.

How do I attach limited action sets?

You can attach limited action sets when you create a new profile or simply click on the numbers (1-4) in the Profile Settings section of the options. You cannot attach a limited action set to multiple profiles.

How do I delete a profile?

Swap to the profile you want to delete and click "Delete". Note that you cannot delete the Default profile.

Color Settings:

Adjusting colors requires ARGB codes in the format of AARRGGBB. You will have to use a color picker on the internet or download the ColorPicker addon for color references. Make sure you hit the enter key after inputting a new ARGB code or it will not be applied.

Known Bugs:

- Loading a new zone may cause one or multiple errors due to the disposition of your characters unit in the game being set to a disposition of 3 (which is Unknown in Carbine terms). I'm not 100% sure why this happens yet but it shouldn't cause any actual issues with the addon. However, if enough errors are launched within a short period of time then it will suspend the addon which will require a /reloadui to re-enable it.

- Classification Icon (specifically class icons) colors are clashing. Have to update some art before this gets fixed.

- Reward Icon (Quest, Event, etc..) positioning is screwed up sometimes.

- Shield values are wonky sometimes. The reason for this is because extra shields do not get removed until they are taken from you (through damage, relogging, etc). Sometimes players will be at 109% shields because of said buffs which may cause settings or information to display incorrectly.

Future of the Addon:

As of right now the addon is in beta. I am focused on fixing all bugs and making sure the addon is performing well more than adding extra functionality. When the amount of bugs start to die down and the addon seems to be running smooth for a large majority of the players then I will put up a release version of the addon and go from there.
